Looking for Uber in Sarajevo? Uber does not currently operate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bolt does not operate there either. Practical alternatives include licensed local taxis, the mojTaxi ordering app, public transport and pre-arranged private transfers. Central Sarajevo is also compact enough to walk when hills and cobbles are manageable.

Is there Uber or Bolt in Sarajevo?
No. As reviewed on 14 October 2026, neither Uber nor Bolt lists Bosnia and Herzegovina as an operating market. Sarajevo Visit & Go is not Uber: it accepts transfer and private-driver requests that are reviewed and confirmed before travel.
Licensed taxis and the mojTaxi app
Licensed local taxis are the closest practical alternative for an on-demand ride. Use a clearly marked authorized vehicle and confirm the meter or price process. Sarajevo Airport’s July 2026 announcement also states that Sarajevo Taxi can be ordered through mojTaxi.
Walking and public transport
Baščaršija and the central districts are best understood on foot. Trams form the most useful visitor corridor; buses, trolleybuses and minibuses reach areas beyond it. Check current route and ticket details with the operator rather than relying on an old blog post.
Private driver, airport transfer or rental car?
Choose a pre-arranged transfer for a scheduled airport pickup, luggage, child-seat request or group. A private driver suits Mostar, Jahorina, mountain trips and flexible Bosnia routes. Rent a car when you genuinely need independent travel outside the city; central parking makes it unnecessary for many short stays.
